What is Bloomsday?
A celebration of the day that James Joyce's epic novel, Ulysses, took place. The novel is set in and around Dublin, Ireland and follows the adventures of several characters, including Leopold Bloom, through a single remarkable day, June 16, 1904. Fans of the novel celebrate Bloomsday each year by reading from the novel, re-enacting scenes, listening to traditional Irish music, pub crawls or hoisting their favorite Irish drink to celebrate their favorite literary work.

New Yorker Kathleen Collins was the first American-born fiddler to win a senior all-Ireland Championship and her 1976 debut album Traditional Music of Ireland, is regarded as one of the best solo fiddle recordings. She has long been a respected and popular dance teacher but returned recently to the studio to record a long-awaited second album, My Book of Songs. As on the recording, she is joined by guitarist, singer and keyboard player, Gabriel Donohue. $15 donation at the door.
